Ready for Deep Healing? Discover Freedom from
Trauma, Stress, and Depression.

Melanie Palmietto, Owner, LMHC, LPC

Melanie believes trauma and anxiety can have a huge impact on our bodies, thought patterns, relationships, and so much more. You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed, lost in thought, thinking of the worst-case scenarios, and avoiding tasks or responsibilities. Maybe you've been in therapy before or for years and you're now looking for something that can take you deeper into your healing. You're not just looking for coping skills you're looking for trauma resolution. Perhaps you're ready to feel connected to your body, trust yourself, speak your truth, and show up in the world aligned, authentic, and connected. Through our work you will experience being seen, heard, and healed. Your body holds innate wisdom and resilience that we get to tap into together.

Melanie utilizes somatic experiencing, which is a body based approach to trauma healing, stress reduction, and so much more. You will better understand what your body is communicating to you and gently release what the body has stored from past experiences. This is a collaborative process that fosters safety, connection, understanding, and value.

This isn’t your first rodeo.  You’ve been in therapy for awhile and gained a hefty toolbox of coping skills on  your journey.  You talk about your problems with your therapist week after week but leave feeling little relief or no relief at all.  You’re showing up but you still feel stuck knee deep in feeling hopeless, unworthy, sad, angry, afraid, worried, anxious, resentful, and overwhelmed.

You want therapy to work but it is not leading to the transformation you hope for.  You’re tired of the temporary solutions and are beginning to believe that you’re failing at therapy or that therapy is failing you.  You’re wondering how much longer it will take for the tide to turn.

Transformation might be closer than you think!

Our Approach To Therapy

The Somatic Experiencing method is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. Somatic Experiencing explores where an individual may be “stuck” in a fight, flight, or freeze response and works with an individual’s natural resilience to move through these “stuck” self-protective responses.

EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) During an EMDR session, the therapist guides the patient to recall distressing memories while simultaneously providing bilateral sensory input, often through side-to-side eye movements, hand tapping, or auditory tones. This bilateral stimulation is believed to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional impact and associated symptoms.EMDR aims to help individuals process traumatic memories in a way that reduces their power to trigger distressing symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and anxiety. It's been widely studied and has shown effectiveness in treating PTSD and related conditions, although the exact mechanisms of how it works are still being researched.

Internal Family Systems focuses on a client's internal “parts” and “Self.” In IFS, the mind is considered to be naturally made up of multiple sub-personalities or families within each individual's mental system.

Acceptance Commitment Therapy  encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them.

Meditation and Visualizations our brain  does not know the difference between something we imagine/visualize and something that is actually happening. Therefore visualizations are a powerful tool that allows the body to complete instinctual self protective responses.

“Working with Melanie has been transformative! I used traditional therapy methods for years, but they only managed certain symptoms. After working with Melanie, I no longer have panic attacks, I healed from my traumatic experience, and I actually feel an inner peace and confidence for the first time! I highly recommend working with Melanie and trying somatic experiencing. It is truly life changing!”
